Google is launching a new app called Baby Monitor to help parents monitor their babies and their toddlers, and it’s already getting some positive reviews.
The app, which Google is calling Baby Monitor, will let parents use a smartphone’s camera and microphone to record their child’s movements, to take a picture or video of their child, or to listen to their child breathing, says the company.
Parents will be able to see their child in a baby monitor’s viewfinder and also in a virtual-reality headset, and a parent can also control Baby Monitor from the smartphone’s microphone and app.
Google says the app will also let parents control Baby Tracker’s motion sensor and other features of the baby monitor, such as the amount of time the child is awake, the distance between the parent and the baby, and whether the child sleeps or not.
Google says there will be a wide variety of baby monitors available, from traditional pacifiers and cribs to child-size devices.
Baby Monitor will be available in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
It will launch in the coming months in the UK, Canada and Germany.
You can download the app from the Google Play Store, or from the company’s website, or by visiting the company online store.
